Hidden Gemz is a tech startup in the tourism industry. Their platform works by helping Gen Z tourists explore the city of Calgary, by highlighting local businesses – hidden gems. In order to scale their success, Hidden Gemz realized that they needed to expand their reach on social media. To do this, they had to expand beyond their pre-existing three person team.
Hidden Gemz connected with TalentED YYC to hire a marketing student. We helped them access funding for their student, we helped them to frame their student opportunity, and we helped them connect with all of Calgary’s post-secondary institutions. Once they found their student, they quickly got to work. Their marketing student doubled Hidden Gemz’ social media following. In turn, this allowed their platform to be seen and used by many more Gen Z tourists. A student truly helped this small business to scale success.

Meet Catch Communications:
Catch Communications is a local business that provides communication support. With our help, Catch Communication’s owner, Anita Lee, was able to hire a graphic design student.
